Scrap Therapy, inspired by The Color Room!

The Color Room's Palette this week REALLY inspired me last night. I found myself digging through a paper tower of old papers that I hadn't touched in ages, for I remembered there was one paper in particular that would fit this palette perfectly, an offer me a bit of hand-cutting scrap therapy. Since I have joined the Couture Cardstock team, my hand-cutting has dwindled a bit because I am trying to use less patterned paper and more cardstock - but last night, I let loose and cut ... and cut.... and cut, the little floral details and butterflies in my second layout below.

But before that, I found boy-ish swirled and striped papers that screamed baby boy layout to me, in the same color palette! So I dug out a photo that I wanted to use, and had at it. It has been so interesting trying to create boy pages in my style... what a learning process. :) I know that I CAN use floral details on his layouts... but what fun is it to just do the same old, same old, when I have a non-girlee subject matter in front of me, lol?

"I'm Building a Boy"

Lord,
Build me a son whose heart will be clear, whose goals will be high, a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men, one who learns to laugh, yet never forgets to weep, one who will reach into the future, yet never forgets the past.

And then, yes... I reverted to my inky, handcutting ways with this layout. Using that one sheet of patterned paper that I knew I had in my stash for years, just waiting to be put to good use!

"3's a {PERFECT} Crowd"

No journaling this time, the title says it ALL.

Hey, Heidi! Saw your pages in the gallery at TCR and HAD to check out your blog for more details. You've got so much talent, girl! Love your style! hehehehe Had to chuckle .. I have 3 granddaughters so I'm always scrapping girly with flowers and ribbons and girly things. I struggle to 'fill' my boy pages. So, I commend you for experimenting with more masculine scrapping techniques. Love you blog ... TONS of inspiration here! Thanks for letting me 'visit' and spend some time here.
