Kelley Carving's 2008

So, it's that time of year when Patrick and summon the kids, and pull out our knives. For the past three years Patrick and I have challenged ourselves to actually carve the pumpkins in a more creative way (as opposed to just faces, that is.) The first year... not so good. The next year, a bit better. Last year we outdid ourselves, because part of our challenge is that the girls get to pick what image goes onto the pumpkin and that is what we carve. We alternate years with the girls so that one year I carve Sarenna's and the next Ahna's. (Of course this will change when they can man their own knives, but alas... at 5 and 7 that time is not here.) Last year I carved a carousel horse for Ahna, and Patrick carved Blue from Blue's Clues for Sarenna. What do ya think??

Well, this year the girls said they were going to go easy on us... but as it turns out, easy didn't work out so well. I mean, they are still pretty cool, but I slaughtered Sarenna's poor penguin's beak, and Daddy's seahorse didn't turn out exactly like Ahna had "envisioned." But OH WELL! Here are the Kelley Carvings 2008 for your viewing pleasure (HA)...
