Prima's NSD blohop!!

Yes! It is National Scrapbook Day, and us flower kids wanted to have a little bit of fun with you! If you have come here from Janine's blog, then you are in exactly the right place!

Live With Prima Classes start at 9 am ET and run all day long!
Here's the link to the classes that we are offering on ustream!  www.ustream.tv/channel/primaflower

What an incredible two years that I have had designing for Prima, it has been such a creative journey and I have been so incredibly honored to have worked alongside some of my own creative muses and make a whole gaggle of friends along the way. It is slowly coming to a close at the end of this term, but I will never forget this design team and my spot among the flower girls. :) I thought to commemorate today and my days with Prima that I would do a little wrap up with my favorite projects from the last two years... after taking a peek, if you leave me a comment telling me which one was YOUR favorite of these, you will be in the running for an incredible RAK from my private Prima stash. :))

Here we go!
From 2011-2012...

"Party Hats"
 "My Beautiful Girl"
"Boy: A Noise With Dirt on It."
 "The Future Belongs..."

and from 2012-2013...

"Be Unforgettable"
 "Mirror Mirror"
 "I'll Love Remembering 35"
 "I Am the Canvas"
 "Perfume {But No Pincurls}"

I hope that you found some form of inspiration somewhere in those photos, I have loved pouring my heart into the pages and projects - and can't wait to see where my own creative process leads me next :)) I have classes to take and teach, and lots of ideas in this head of mine. I'm sure you do too and I hope that this NSD finds you with tons of mojo and maybe some messy hands.

Now, I can't leave you without teasing a bit with a new project... but this time, you are only getting the sneaks - you will have to wait until it is shown on the Prima blog to see the whole thing.

Here's the order of our hop... in the event that you get lost along the way! Thank you so much for hopping along with us today, have fun, be inspired and brilliantly creative!
xx Heidi

Have you just come here from SHONA's blog? Then you are on the right path!

By now you have certainly seen the images of our new products, Dazzlerz and Texturez.... have you nabbed some of this beautiful paint yet for yourselves? Aaah, our design team and educators are so in love with this product that we wanted to give you another opportunity (or perhaps several!) to win some through this bloghop!!

What's up for grabs if you play along?
Our NEW DAZZLERZ and TEXTUREZ paint!
(Just look at the gorgeous colors!)

To play along with us, click on the link below, and just follow the Shimmerz path! Leave a comment everywhere you go, and finally, once you end up on the Shimmerz blog page, tell us what Shimmerz Paint product you would love to get your hands on. Make sure to leave a comment everywhere though, because there are a couple of prizes hidden within some of the Ed team, and DT blog posts! (To be eligible to win these, you must have left a comment on their blog hop post.)

Here are a couple of projects that I have created using the brilliant new product!

"Beautiful Blues"
I used Gummy Berry Blue Dazzlerz on top of clear, acrylic, banner pieces, and Tidy Widy Texturez under and in the cluster around my photo.
I also used it on top of my letters, and around the acyrlic piece that is circling my son's eye. I just love how the color build upon one another, creating such beautiful texture!! Truly, these new paints are so much fun to play with!

Before we head on over to the next blog, though, we wanted to share our May Challenge with you!!
"...Its Mothers Day Very soon. So in Preparation, the Challenge for May will be something for the Mums. Our Mums are very special and being a Mum is such a gift. This month create something for your Mum, or to celebrate Motherhood. It can be anything, Just be sure to use Shimmerz!

No Ordinary Boy **Prima**

Up on the Prima blog today and using one of the Friday freebie sets...

"No Ordinary Boy"

22 april heidi
I incorporated the Friday Freebie cards by pulling them into my Photoshop program and layering my photos within them.
22 april heidi2
For one of the cards, I altered my photo, making it transparent so that I could include the journaling on the lines. And for the other card, I built up the layers so that it looks like my son is popping out of the frame within the card.

Then I printed out copies on cardstock, cutting the details out and ripping the cards, then layering behind my main photos.

Some 7 Dots Studio...

A wrap up of some of my projects from the past couple of months for 7 Dots Studio. Click HERE to visit their blog, the team is incredibly, creatively, brilliant, and you are certain to be inspired!

My last baby is something special (aren't they all?!)… there is a special story to his name, one that keeps us believing in all things life, all things faith, all things amazing. Titled “believe” because, well, we do…
The soft colors in the “Love is in the Air” collection was perfect for capturing the mood that I wanted to set with this layout. My son fell ill only a few weeks after being born, and his sweet little face needed to be framed in some quiet blue and green hues.

A bit of molding paste, alcohol inks, and some molding paste set the

Supplies – 7 Dots Studio:
Love is in the Air 6×6 pad
Love is in the Air “Just Dreaming”

I have held onto this picture for years… for 14 as a matter of fact. It’s small, it’s so small. But it is precious to me, because it is one of 5 photographs that I have from when my husband and I were dating. Ahhh, how young we were. How much love there was right away!
I used the colors from the Dreamer Collection to inspire all the elements that I used to embellish the layout with. I wanted to give the eye a place to rest with the white gesso splothces, but I drew the rest of the color palette, including my alpha stickers, paints, and inks from the background colors within the paper.
I also used scraps from this collection to layer bits and strips of paper within my clusters, on top of stickers and corrugated cardboard.

Supplies – 7 Dots Studio:
Dreamer Collection  - Daydreaming

Another small photo, but one in which brings back so many memories of my girls when they were ever so little. I combined the Dreamer and The Queen’s Heart collections to create this layout and I think they work wonderfully together!
I started with the backside of the “Daydreaming” paper, using it as a background, and then using some scraps from the front side of the paper I cut out some of the distressed squares. After attaching my photo to those squares, I added art mediums and paints to make the photo a part of the scene. I embellished the layout using cut-out elements from the 6×6 The Queen’s Heart paper collection, and some of the banner stickers from the Dreamer collection.

Supplies – 7 Dots Studio:
Dreamer Collection – 12×12 Stickers
Dreamer Collection –  ”Darydreaming”
The Queen’s Heart – 6×6 paper pad
Who says that you can’t make yourself into how you see yourself? Yes, I see myself adorned with headdresses made of flowers, flourishes, threads, and butterflies… but ahhhh, no one else sees that side of Heidi :).. at least, I don't think they do!
Supplies – 7 Dots Studio:
The Queen’s Heart “For A Reason”
The Queen’s Heart “It’s Possible”
The Queen’s Heart “Way of Life”
The Queen’s Heart 12×12 Elements

Have you ever had one of those days, you know, the kind in which you have so many things to think about, that you are swirling with ideas and things to do? That is exactly what this layout is about and I thought that Finn’s Dreamer Collection perfectly captures it with all of its intense hues, swirls, distressed squares and taping effects. Yes, this was my mood that day!

I only used one sheet, for background paper, to show how easy it is to use this collection. I simply coordinated some flowers and metal embellishments to the colors within the collection, and then added additional Alcohol inks and Shimmerz Paints to make the colors that more intense and dramatic.
